Dear Parents/Guardians,
There is a “Show What You Know” coming up in our Data
Management Math unit. This is an opportunity for the students to demonstrate
their knowledge and what they have learned so far. Students will need to know
the following:
-
Make tally charts
-
Ask good survey questions (Grade One ‘yes or no’
question, Grade Two ‘question with options’)
-
Determine a title of a graph
-
Able to identify and interpret pictographs, line plots,
and bar graphs
(Tell
‘facts’ about the graph)
*I have sent home a package of graphs that the students have
been working on during the past couple of weeks, please use these graphs to
prepare for this assessment.
*STUDY TIP: practise interpreting graphs that were sent home
(tell ‘facts about the graphs’, and ask questions that could be answered by
looking at the data presented in the graph)
The “Show What You Know” will be on Thursday November 12th, 2015.
